The Sombrero Galaxy – 28 million light years from Earth – was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across.

In third place is Nebula NGC 2392, called ‘Eskimo’ because it looks like a face surrounded by a furry hood. The hood is, in fact, a ring of comet-shaped objects flying away from a dying star. Eskimo is 5,000 light years from Earth.

At four is the Cat’s Eye Nebula.

The Hourglass Nebula, 8,000 light years away, has a ‘pinched-in- the-middle’ look because the winds that shape it are weaker at the centre.

In sixth place is the Cone Nebula. The part pictured here is 2.5 light years in length (the equivalent of 23 million return trips to the Moon).

The Perfect Storm, a small region in the Swan Nebula, 5,500 light years away, described as ‘a bubbly ocean of hydrogen and small amounts of oxygen, sulphur and other elements’.

Starry Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh painting. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way.

The glowering eyes from 114 million light years away are the swirling cores of two merging galaxies called NGC 2207 and IC 2163 in the distant Canis Major constellation.

The Trifid Nebula. A ‘stellar nursery’, 9,000 light years from here, it is where new stars are being born.

Going back few years ago, people lived a simple life. Students and young people don’t have computers or laptops. They rely on libraries to do their research and projects. They manually do the projects. But now, everything can be done as fast as you want it to be. That is why, students have a tendency to be lax and to procrastinate. They do their assignments on the last minute, thinking that they can always do it anytime. Well, that’s not really that bad. If we learn to look at the good side, it also has some benefits. As long as we use it properly and not abuse it in any way, technology can be a tool that can help as a lot. With the use of computers, you can do your projects faster, and you can even make designs. Right now, there are cheap and affordable computers with printers on them so it can be more useful specially to students. I wonder how the students before survived without all these tools. They must be so diligent and hard working. What do yo think?

Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to have my own laptop. I learned computer at the age of 3. I got more hooked or interested on it, when I learned to use the internet when I was 13, first year high school then. I used to wish to have my own laptop that I can bring anywhere. But it was to costly, so I had to bear using the old and big desktop. Now that I am working as a technical support engineer, assisting guests or customers in hotels who are having trouble with their internet connection, I got more interested to computers. I still don’t have a laptop right now, and don’t even have my own personal computer even just a regular desktop. If ever I would buy one, I’ll make sure that it has a high performance laptop memory, so I won’t have any problems with performance and storage. I hate delays, and I don’t want interruption when I’m doing something. Efficiency is a must today,every minute is gold. Time cannot be wasted, by a slow computer with a poor memory. So if you are planning to buy a computer make sure that it has a good laptop memory so you can be sure of a fast speed that will assist you in getting your work done.
