Things I’m Grateful for Today

I would like to learn how to be grateful for each day I live. I don’t want to see all beautiful things on this earth, and just neglect it because to me its just NORMAL. From now on, I commit that I will be thankful for all the wonderful things in my life, even for the not so wonderful ones. I will be keen in observing the blessing and small surprises in my life, and be quick to do something to show that I am thankful. This is my pledge, to live a meaningful and purposeful life, and to be grateful come what may.

Things I am grateful for today
1. I’m back at my original seat, and I don’t have to transfer to another workstation. I love my pc here.
2. I’m grateful to be able to do oopss, even without grabbing and chasing for it.
3. Happy that my blog is now on the first page of Google.
4. Happy to have a loving husband.
5. Happy that everyone is healthy at home. A little bit worried of the lump on mother’s knee but I know everything will be okay.
6. Grateful for being able to stick to my plan of saving ronel’s paycheck.
7. Happy for being closer to my dreams everyday as we gradually work on it.
8. Happy that by early October, will be starting our very first sari-sari store.
9. Happy that we now have electricity again. No more, tapping into our neighbor’s house.
10. Happy to reach more 252 posts in a matter of 3 months. With that, I mean active blogging. As you can see on my archive, I started this on November, and never really understood what blogging means. So I stopped, and in march, that’s when I started to do it actively. As in, I have to write everyday and read blogs to learn more. I’m happy of what I have accomplished as for now.

Thank God for this life, for this wonderful life. Whatever life I may have, whatever happens I will have joy deep inside that no one can steal and I will not let anyone or anything ruin it. As long as, you are with me.

FRIDAY REFLECTIONS#2

BE GRATEFUL

“I’m grateful for everything. I walk down the street and think, I’m not dizzy, my legs are working right, I can see straight and smell and hear clearly. It’s a nice day. I have a family that loves me and friends who will be there no matter what.”– Tennis player James Blake on what life is like after healing from a broken back
.

I wish everyone will adopt this kind of thinking. Perhaps, if everyone will do, the world will be a better place and people will not try to chase after the success of others to try to be at par with them, people will be more contented, people will be happier and will have less sickness. I believe, most of the difficulties in life, attributes to the way we think. We should guard our thoughts all the time and we should try our best to harbor only positive thoughts that will keep us hopeful and happy, not bitter and discontented. Sometimes, we fail to see what we have because we are too much focused on what we don’t have and what others have.
Most people also, only see what they have and get to appreciate it once its gone. There are people in our loves that we tend to neglect everyday, and we only see them once they are gone. Time cannot be taken back. Once its gone, its gone. If we don’t embrace our life everyday as what we are supposed to do, we will miss life and we will have lots of regrets in life. Appreciate what you have, no matter how simple it is. In the end, its not what you have that matters. Not the things you possess, nor the beauty that you have, or the achievement you accomplished, but its the more valuable things that cannot be exchanged for anything. Love, yes…love. Love can come in any form. Open your eyes, and then you will see it. It’s just around the corner. It’s the best source of satisfaction in life, along with a good relationship with God. Let us start living now, and forget all the hurts and grudges we have for anyone. Let’s set ourselves free and learn to forgive.

REFLECTIONS#1

TAKE TIME TO SLOW DOWN

People nowadays are more prone to stress. Stress is the disruption of the body’s balance, which involves mental, emotional or physical strain or tension. Sometimes, in our goal towards “perfectionism” we tend to put on too much responsibilities, most of which are not even necessary. Most of the time, we create our own “tension”. The world today makes us so busy in the effort to produce more, and achive more. We tend to forget sometimes that our life here on earth is just temporary. A death of a loved one, a close friend, or even just a plain acquiantance, makes us realize this reality. If we don’t forget this, we will live a meaningful life. The knowledge that life has an end, makes us slow down and focus only on the important things in our lives.

I am guilty sometimes of failing to slow down, in my quest for providing my family a better life. I am still in the rat race, trying to make a living, and to make both ends meet for our necessities. Thus, I tend to forget to stop, to slow down and to reflect on my life. Everytime I forget, I just read this line and I’m back on track. Hope it works for you too.

If you’re working hard to make a living,
Never taking time to smell the roses,
Now’s the time to heed the Bible’s wisdom;
Find true joy before your life’s day closesHESS
