Welcome Back Mommy Ruby

I am so happy when I checked on Pinaymommy Online, cause I found out that she is back now from a couple of days of absence. I really thought she would be offline for long. I was sad because to me, it would mean no updates from her blog. I visit her blog frequently, everyday if I could. I love her blog for a lot of reasons, first because she does updates very fast. I like that, because I love to read. When I visit a site, I don’t just drop or take a peek, I really read, specially if I like it. Pinaymommy Online is one of the most informative sites you could ever visit. Her intelligence and keen for details really shows. Another reason, why I love her and her blog, is because she really shares to everyone if she has a new discovery that gave her gain or was beneficial to her, she will really share it through writing. I have a learned a lot from her. Lastly, I love her because she blogs about her life. She is really very admirable. If you read a blog, you will surely admire her too. Her strength in the midst of all the difficulties she is experiencing is something I would love to imitate. Her love for her husband, who seemed to be UNLOVABLE (in my opinion) is another thing that will make you salute her. I so wanted to comfort her even just by posting about her and showing something that will lighten her day a bit, but I was too busy. Yes, too busy with my own life, and own struggles. I hope she understands….

To mommy ruby, I miss you and I wish you all the best. I’m just glad your back.

My Very First Award

Arte Y Pico Award

Finally, creative thoughts received its very first blogger award. I would like to thank carlota for this, and I want to say that I truly appreciate it. First times are always unforgettable. I have been blogging seriously for more than 2 months now. This is one of those moments that I felt proud and contented with what I have achieved in my blogging journey. It’s all worth it. It’s not that easy to maintain a blog. You have to have passion, dedication and you have to love writing and sharing your thoughts. Without these ingredients, you will not be successful in your journey. One of the goals of this blog is to let people know that each mind, is creative and is full of magic and mystery. As you can see on my welcome page, on the upper left, one of aim is to make this site popular. I am gradually reaching that goal, and I am glad for all my avid readers and friends who kept their trust on me.

If you are still a new blogger, I encourage you to never lose hope and to have passion in what you are doing. When the going gets stuff, what keeps you going and motivated is your passion and love for what you are doing. Blogging is not just about writing nonsense articles, more so, its not all about getting money from your blog. It’s more of sharing a bit of yourself to others, letting them have a peak on your emotions and inner thoughts. That’s what blogging is all about for me. And that’s what creative thoughts is all about.

I am passing this tag to my fellow bloggers: Joy, Abby, Shengy, Mommy Ruby, and Liz

The White Gardenia

Every year on my birthday, from the time I turned 12, one white gardenia was delivered anonymously to me at my house.

There was never a card or note, and calls to the floris were in vain because the purchase was always made in cash. After a while, I stopped trying to disover the identity of the sender. I just delighted in the beauty and heady perfume of that one magical, perfect while flower nestled in folds of soft pink tissue paper. But I never stopped imagining who the sender might be. Some of the happiest moments were spent in daydreams about someone wonderful and exciting, but too shy or eccentric to make known his or her identity. In my teen years, it was fun to speculate that the sender might be a boy I had a crush on, or even someone I didn’t know who had noticed me. My mother often contirbuted to my speculations. She’d ask me if there was someone for whom I had done a special kindness, who might be showing appreciation anonymously. She reminded me of the times when I’d been riding my bike and our neighbor drove up with her car full of groceries and chilren. I always helped her unload the car and made sure the children didn’t run into the road. Or maybe, the mystery sender was the old man across the street. I often retrieved his mail during the winter, so he wouldn’t have to venture down his icy steps.
My mother did her best to foster my imagination about the gardenia. She wanted her children to be creative. She also wanted us to feel cherished and loved, not just by her, but by the world at large.
When I was 17, a boy broke my heart. The night he called for the last time, I cried myself to sleep. When I awoke in the morning, there was a message scribbled on my mirror in red lipstick. “Heartily know, when half-gods go, the gods arrive.” I thought about that quotation from Emerson for a long time, and I left it where my mother had written it until my heart healed. When I finally went for the glass cleaner, my mother knew that everything was all right again. But there were some hurts my mother couldn’t heal. A month before my high school graduation, my father died suddenly of a heart attack. My feelings ranged from simple grief to abandonment, fear, distrust and overwhelming anger that my dad was missing some of the most important events in my life. I became completely uninterested in my upcoming graduation, the senior-class play and the prom – events that I had worked on and looked forward to. I even considered staying home to attend college instead of going away as I had planned because it felt safer.
My mother, in the midst of her own gried, wouldn’t hear of me missing out on any of these things. The day before my father died, she and I had gone shopping for a prom dress and had found a spectacular one – yars and yars of dotted Swiss in red, white and blue. Wearing it made me feel like Scarlett O’Hara. But it was the wrong size, and when my father died the next day, I forgot all about the dress.
My mother didn’t. The day before the prom, I found that dress waiting for me – in the right size. It was draped majestically over the living room sofa, presented to me artistically and lovingly. I may not have cared about having a new dress, but my mother did. She cared how we children felt about ourselves. She imbued us with a sense of the magic in the world and she gave us the ability to see beauty even in the face of adversity. In truth, my mother wanted her children to see themselves much like the gardenia – lovely, strong, perfect, with an aura of magic and perhaps a bit of mystery. My mother died when I was 22, only 10 days after I was married. That was the year the gardenias stopped coming.

Dear Diary

Graphics- At Myspacejunks.com

Good day to all of you guys, thank you for your visit and sorry if I am not blog hopping right now. I still need to finalize the layout for this blog. I am so happy and excited for winning 2nd place in carlota’s contest, and right now I am just waiting for the final template. Once its ready, I will put the finishing touches and have all my widgets back. I have all my links and widgets, so no need to worry. I saw the layout but doesn’t have the code yet, and I am just so excited. I hope everything will be alright, and I hope I will be back on track. *sigh*. Just experienced some challenges, but still go, go here. ehehhe! I stumbled upon a site who’s author has a child who happened to be premature. They stayed 1 month in the hospital because of the baby. I can’t imagine if that will happen to me. This is the site guys, you might want to check it out and see some pictures of her little angel, http://my.dearest.liezl.will.you.marry.me.love.job.oberio.com/. Such a long url, right? Right now guys, I am really saving, because I want my goal of starting a small sari-sari store to be realized. I am saving little by little, and I know that some time I would make it real. I will post some updates on it some time. I badly want to get out of the rat race. I’m tired of living by paycheck, and I want to get some freedom and peace of mind. I have read the rich dad, poor dad and it’s such a great eye opener for me. I realized why some people are rich and why some are poor for the rest of their lives. All I know, is I’m gonna do everything to get out of the rat race.
I’m happy because my sister who is in USA right now, said she will be sending clothes for baby bless. She said my aunts and their friends gave her clothes, because they know I have a baby. It’s a lot my sister said. She told me not to buy clothes for baby anymore, because there’s really a lot, and those are very beautiful clothes. I’m excited to see it. Next month, my sister will send it through package. I can’t wait to see my beautiful baby girl wear those clothes, though some are still big for her.

Be Thankful For What You Have

I’d like to share this presentation to all of you. I hope that everyone will be reminded how blessed we are. We sometimes fail to see all the blessings and favor God is giving us, because we are too focused on what we don’t have. :)
